Artwork Guidelines

Artwork Guidelines

High-quality finished apparel begins with properly prepared artwork. Following these requirements helps prevent production delays, design changes and additional artwork charges.

Preferred File Formats

  • Preferred vector files: AI, EPS, SVG and print-ready PDF.
  • Accepted raster files: PSD, PNG, TIFF and high-resolution JPEG.
  • Convert fonts to outlines in vector artwork and embed linked images.
  • Use a transparent background when no printed background is intended.

Resolution and Print Size

Raster artwork should be created at 300 PPI at the final intended print size. A 12-inch-wide print should be approximately 3,600 pixels wide. Enlarging a small image does not restore missing detail.

Color and Printing

Provide Pantone Solid Coated references when an exact spot ink color is important. Screen and phone displays are not reliable color standards. Dark garments may require a white underbase, and full-color artwork may require a different production method from basic spot-color screen printing.

Text, Fine Detail and Proof Approval

  • Check all spelling, names, dates, telephone numbers and addresses.
  • Avoid extremely thin lines, tiny text and very small isolated details.
  • Review the garment, artwork, colors, print size, location, quantities and size breakdown before approving the proof.
  • Customer-approved errors are not eligible for a free reprint.

Artwork Rights

By submitting artwork, you confirm that you own it or have permission to reproduce it. BigSales4U Apparel may refuse content that appears unauthorized, unlawful or likely to create legal liability.

Additional fees may apply for background removal, cleanup, redrawing, vector conversion, logo recreation, photo retouching, color separation or design revisions.
